Jauflione Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution held its annual Christmas luncheon December 7, 2012 at Keith’s. The meeting was called to order by Regent Susan Miller and conducted in ritualistic form. Chaplain Grace Brown gave the prayer and scripture using Luke 2:1-14.
Regent Susan Miller extended a warm welcome to all those in attendance including Mr. and Mrs. Bill McBee and daughter Lorrin, who was awarded the Good Citizenship award sponsored by Jauflione Chapter. Lorrin is a student at Scotland County R-I High School. A pin was presented to her and pictures were taken.
A delicious luncheon was served by Keith’s from beautifully decorated tables in a Christmas theme. Following lunch, the meeting was reconvened. The President General’s message was given by Nelda Billups. National Defense was given by Marlene Cowell and the Indian Minute was given by Celina Erickson.
Mary Kaye Miles, recording secretary read the minutes from the last meeting. The Treasurer’s report was given by June Kice. Verlee Dauma reported one application pending and another ready to send. Two names were presented for membership.
The Clark County DAR Chapter will be celebrating their 100th birthday at the library in Kahoka January 26, 2013.
Our Missouri State Parliamentarian Dorothy Shull’s husband passed away. The Chapter is to send a sympathy card.
