The top of the second inning Thursday night in Schuyler County felt like it would never end. Scotland County sent 18 batters to the plate in its half of the inning to break open a 3-0 game. The Tigers plated 13 runs in the frame and went on to post an 18-0 win over the Rams.

The Tigers took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Parker Triplett led off with a double. After a base hit by Branton Burrus, Triplett scored on a groundout by Will Fromm. Kaden Anders followed with an RBI hit. A single by Jacob McDaniel and a walk to Brady Curry loaded the bases for Anthony Whitaker who delivered an RBI single.

Scotland County put the game away in the second inning. Burrus and Fromm walked before Anders cranked a two-run double. McDaniel followed with an RBI single to extend the lead to 6-0. Curry walked and Whitaker was hit by a pitch. Walks to Hunter Frederick and Triplett forced in a run. Burrus followed with a two-run single before Fromm, Anders, Curry and Frederick all added RBI hits.

SCR-I tacked on two more runs in the top of the third before Fromm finished off the three-inning shutout. The senior hurler held Schuyler County to just one hit and one walk while striking out three.

Burrus went 3-3 at the plate with four runs scored and two RBIs. Anders was 3-4 with three runs scored and four RBIs and McDaniel was 2-3 with two runs scored and an RBI as SCR-I pounded out 13 hits in the contest to help the team improve to 11-4 on the season.
