Harold Dale Gore, 89, passed away January 26, 2019, at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri.
He was born June 26, 1929, at California Junction, Iowa, to Oran Francis and Ora Agnes (Cleaver) Gore. He graduated from high school in Odebolt, Iowa.
Harold was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Habernicht on September 20, 1947, at Boyer, Iowa. He was an owner- operator, over the road truck driver and retired at age 62. Harold enjoyed trucking, ice skating and attended the First Baptist Church.
Left to share Harold’s memory are his wife, Beverly; a daughter, Marcia Ostrom and her husband, David, of Papillion, Nebraska; a sister, Lucille Dayhuff and her husband, Bill, of Yankton, South Dakota; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters: Sherry Gore-Simpson and Tanya Helene Chowning; two sons: Robert Lee Gore, Randy Scott Gore, a brother, Hugh Gore and two sisters: Betty Hardenbrook and Karen White.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Memphis with the family present to greet relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 2. 2019, with Pastor Dan Hite officiating. Pam Blaine accompanied Cynthia Brown, Amanda Payne and Amber Carney, who sang, Softly and Tenderly, His Eye Is On The Sparrow and the congregation sang Mansion Over the Hilltop.
Burial followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural Scotland County. Casket bearers were Andrew Robinson, Daniel Ostrom, Robert Kerkmann, Jason Kerkmann, Nathan Gore and Roger Brown. Honorary casket bearers were Ben Gore, Christopher Gore, Griffin Kerkmann and Andrew Cowell
As an expression of sympathy, memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Memphis and may be left at the church or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri 63555.
