The Memphis FFA Trap Team Shoot-a-Thon had a great turnout with over 147 participants pulling the trigger.
Three winners were crowned in the Open Division. Bryce Smith took 1st with Jamie Robinson in 2nd and Stewart Blessing 3rd. Both Bryce and Jamie were Alumni members of the FFA Trap Team. Bryce has won the competition every year but one since the competition started. A shoot off was required to settle the final outcome between the top 2 shooters with Bryce coming in first.
The shooters, not including the FFA kids, shot a total of 147 rounds. It was fun for all!
In the FFA Division, Harley Saulmon 94/100 took top honors. Luke Triplett took 2nd with a 92/100, and Connor Payne took 3rd with a 91/100.
Brock Aylward was the only FFA member to shoot a 25/25 at the shoot-a-thon.
Out of the girls that shot, Kilee Bradley-Robinson was high performer with a 83/100 followed by Katelyn Talbert shooting a 82/100 and Avery Shultz shooting an 81. Each FFA member shot 100 birds for a total of 210 rounds.
“Thank you to all the support from the community,” says Coach Dave Koch.
Each FFA member has to get sponsors for the shoot-a-thon to raise money for the trap team for the year. Waltedda Blessing praised the efforts of the parents and students for all their hard work and for making the shoot-a-thon possible.
Next week the team heads to Macon to compete again.
