Scotland County Hospital is pleased to welcome Dr. Heather Martin, Family Practice Physician, to Memphis Medical Services. Dr. Martin is no newbie to Scotland County; for the past two years, while in residency in Kirksville, she has been on staff at Scotland County Hospital on weekends caring for in-patients as our Hospitalist. Additionally, she has done a number of rotations during her residency with Dr. Randy Tobler and Dr. Jeff Davis.
She is accepting patients of all ages at Memphis Medical Services on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. She does EGD and Colonoscopy procedures in the Surgery Center & minor dermatology procedures. She has special interest in obstetrics, from pregnancy to delivery & beyond, preventative medicine and whole-person health. “My approach is empathetic and non-judgmental care for patients of all ages. It is important to me that all of my patients feel personally involved in their care, that I educate them about their choices, and that we move forward as partners in their health care decisions,” said Dr. Martin.
She is a native of the Kansas City area and a recent graduate from AT Still University in Kirksville. She received her undergraduate degree from Truman State University in 2003. She is the mother of three children, married for 12 years to her husband, Chris, and loves being outdoors at the lake, the pool, kayaking, hiking or at the ball park watching her kids’ games.
“We are very pleased to have Dr. Martin joining our Medical Staff and SCH family. After nearly 10 years here, I have found that the providers who are successful have a connection at a personal level with their patients. I’m confident because of her personality and the friendships she has developed while working in the hospital during her residency, that she will be very successful. Folks are going to love her as a primary care physician,” said Randy Tobler, MD, CEO at Scotland County Hospital.
