After the successful pie and cupcake auctions as well as the sale of donated sports memorabilia this past week at Scotland County R-I home basketball games, the district announced the latest fundraising efforts to help bring the district a new all-weather track.

Raffle tickets are now available in the SCR-I central office for a Cookshack Amerique Model Sm066 Electric Smoker. The cooker, a $1,899 value, was donated by the Class of 1967. Raffle tickets are on sale for $5 each or 5 for $20.

The drawing will take place at the home varsity baseball game  vs. Schuyler County scheduled for Thursday, April 11th. All proceeds will benefit the community all weather track project’s matching funds portion.

The electric smoker features a meat temperature probe, which changes the setting and when the cooked product gets to a desired internal temperature, it will automatically change the settings to a holding temperature. This feature is usually only found on commercial equipment.

Raffle tickets will be available in the offices at Scotland County R-1 schools beginning in February. Entries must include name and contact information.  The smoker will be on display at all remaining home basketball games. You do not need to be present at the time of the drawing to win, but arrangements will need to be made to pick up the prize at Scotland County Schools.

“Thank you so much to the Class of 1967 for their support,” said SCR-I Superintendent Ryan Bergeson. “Please contact Scotland County Schools if you need additional information.”
