Memphis Medical Services is pleased to welcome Jessica Christen, FNP-BC. Jessica is a Family Nurse Practitioner and is accepting patients at Memphis Medical Services, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. She sees patients from childhood to adulthood and works collaboratively with Dr. Shane Wilson, Internal Medicine.
She is a native of Green City and the daughter of Brad and Kathy Ayers. Both her Bachelors of Nursing and Doctorate in Nursing Practice came from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She worked in acute care, with most of her experience in Medical & Neurosurgical ICU at the University Hospital in Columbia.
She has special interests in diabetes and also in the management of other chronic diseases such as hypertension & hyperlipidemia. She enjoys doing education with patients and helping them understand their treatment options and how they can help themselves. “In caring for my patients, I like engaging patients in their care, helping them to understand their illness and practical measures they can take for improvements,” said Christen.
She has been married to her husband, Thomas, for nine years and he is the Director of the Knox County Community Center in Edina. They have 3 little boys Sam, Jake, and Tyler. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, hunting and traveling.
