The Memphis Chapter of FFA Trap Team began the 2018 season at Macon on August 25th taking three full teams to compete in the season-opener.
Memphis claimed first place in the 36-team field of competitors.
The top shooter for Scotland County was Kyle Childress, scoring a 49 out of 50. Shelby Troutman topped the girls’ squad with a round of 45. Jared Dunn, Kale Creek and Magnum Talbert all shot rounds of 48 and Luke Triplett had a 47, producing the winning score of 240 points out of 250.
FFA Advisor Waltedda Blessing and Coach Dave Koch were very pleased with how the team shot.
The school was aided by the scoring system, which took the top 5 individual scores for shooter from the program,
The Memphis A team featured Dunn, Triplett, Brock Aylward, Jake McDaniel, and Dylan Mohr.
Three members of the Memphis B Team, Creek, Talbert and Childress, helped produce the winning score. Also on the B team were Parker Triplett and Hunter Frederick.
Shooting for the girls this week along with Troutman were Katelyn Talbert, Katie Campbell, Kilee Bradley-Robinson, and Kalissa Thomas.
The Memphis FFA Team invites the public out to watch them shoot as they host the annual fundraiser Shoot-a-thon on Sunday, September 9th at the Lake Show-Me Trap Range.
