The Cedar Grove Club met on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Residential Care Facility of Scotland County Care Center.  Virginia Woods was hostess.  Lunch was sub sandwiches from Casey’s provided by Virginia and Cheesecake provided by Peggy Cumby.

After lunch the meeting was called to order.  Present were Betty Bissell, Grace Brown, Christine Musgrove, Reta Stott, Virginia Woods, Phyllis Heckethorn, and special guest, Peggy Cumby of Quincy, IL, daughter of Grace Brown.

The minutes and treasurer’s reports were read.  Correspondence was handled.  There was no old business to discuss.

New Business: The July meeting will be held at the home of Phyllis Heckethorn who is hostess.

Betty asked Peggy if she would like to join the club.  Peggy accepted.

Since June 14th was also Flag Day, Christine brought the book, “The Patriots Handbook” by Caroline Kennedy.  She read an essay from the book about the flag.

Reta ended the meeting with a thought for the day by Oscar Wilde: “Life is too important a thing ever to talk seriously about”.  The meeting was adjourned.
