The Bible Grove Historical Preservation Committee is hosting its annual “Preservation Day” and School Reunion this Saturday, August 15th at the Bible Grove School Building in Bible Grove, MO.
The day’s events will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a Flag Raising Ceremony in memory of all students, teachers and employees of the Bible Grove School. The Trap Shoot will also begin at 10:00 and the food stand and Museum will open at this time.
At noon, a Kettle Beans and Corn Bread Dinner will be served followed by the Window Sash Auction and Indian Creek Muzzle Loaders Black Powder Shoot at 1:00 p.m. For more information about the Black Powder Shoot, contact Max Hamilton at 465-2206.
Other afternoon activities include a Trivia Game and Kids Games at 2:00 p.m. and a Cake Walk at 3:00 p.m.
The evening meal, a Grilled Chicken Supper, will be served at 6:00 p.m. Cost for the meal is $8 per person, $3 for children ages 10 and under.
Another Window Sash Auction will take place at 7:00 p.m. along with musical entertainment by MJ the DJ and Karaoke.
A Drawing of Prizes, including a patio set, cooler set, tool set and more, will start at 8:00 p.m.
Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy some old-fashioned fun. Please bring your lawn chairs.
The Bible Grove School is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. All proceeds and donations will go towards the preservation of the school house. Please help support a part of Scotland County’s history.
