The annual Scotland County Hospital Fun Run was held Saturday morning, August 23rd with well over 100 participants completing either the 5K run or the 1.5 mile walk.

Austin Smith turned in the top time for the 5K, finishing in 21 minutes and 39 seconds. The top female performer was Lisa Murguia in a time of 23:38.

In the 18 and under division for males, 1st place went to Robert Barker (23:09), followed by Ben Thomas (23:33) and Kody Parkins (24:40).

Top finishers in the 18 and under female division were Anna Monroe (25:58), Abi Feeney (26:53) and Taylor Murguia (28:15).

Racing to first place in the mens 19-29 age class was Zach Miller in a time of 25:29. Second place went to  Larry Balanda in 27:28.

In the ladies 19-29 class it was Brenna Poe taking top honors crossing the finish line in 25:15 followed closely by  Ali Fromm (25:29) with Katie Tuck finishing third in 28:12.

In the men’s 30-39 age class it was Michael Browning in first in 24 minutes and 53 seconds. 24:53, four seconds ahead of Andy Miller’s second place time. Rob Egenberger finished third in 28:12.

In the women’s 30-39 class Toni Middleton was the winner with a time of  24:08. Michelle Parrott was second in 26:15 followed by Melinda Briggs in 28:12.

In the 40-49 age class, the men’s winner was Jeff Davis with a time of 24:47. Mark Wiggins was not far behind in 24:59 with Jason Middleton running the race in 25:29.

In the women’s 40-49 class Trinity Davis was first in 26:53 followed by Karri Feeney (26:58) and Angela Hawes (28:17).

In the 50+ class, Mark Fryer won the men’s division in a time of 26:59 followed by Darrell Monroe in 28:02 and Pete Robertson in 29:08. On the ladies’ side it was Carla Cook taking top honors in a time of 29:44. Dani Fromm was second in 30:37 followed by Suzie Lister with a time of 35:05.
