Arlo Leroy Trueblood, 83, of Arbela died Monday, March 25, 2019 at Scotland County Hospital in Memphis.

He was born the son of Glenn and Margaret Jenny (Finch) Trueblood on September 16, 1935 in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Arlo married the former Carolyn Stamp on December 23, 1960 in Clarence. The Truebloods settled in Arbela where they farmed, raising hogs and Arlo’s prized South Devon cattle. Arlo was a skilled craftsman and master fabricator. His neighbors and friends brought their implements for him to repair during Arlo’s farming years. He was almost always able to figure out a fix, creating a new part if necessary.

Arlo was a skilled woodworker. He was renowned around the area for his beautiful handcrafted bowls which he was always happy to donate for a cause.

He was a proud grandfather. His grandchildren and great- grandchildren were his joys in life.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lester Lee Trueblood.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of the home; children: Tina Trueblood (Jack Guregian) of St. Louis, Theresa (Tony) Shelley of Arbela and Gene (Penny) Trueblood of Syracuse, NE; a brother, Bob Trueblood of Arbela; a sister, Joyce Spidle of Milan, IL; grandchildren: Danielle (Brandon) Garrett of Kirksville, Andrea (Tim) Graham of Memphis, Teri Trueblood (Lance Smith) of Polk City, IA, Chris (Amanda Calkins) and Dereck Trueblood, both of Lincoln, NE; great-grandchildren: Clara, Haylee, Owen, Chesney, Trayton and Kambridge; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were March 28, 2019 at the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis with burial in the Memphis Cemetery.  Curtis Ebeling, pastor of the Lighthouse of Faith Church in Memphis, officiated. Joe Heptig, Brian Morley, Carl Trueblood, David Trueblood, Randy Trueblood and Dr. Ted Trueblood were pallbearers.
