The January 16, 2019 4-H Council meeting was called to order by President, Anna Triplett. Pledges were led by the Gorin Go-Getters 4-H Club. Elsie Kigar reported on the Secretary’s minutes and Shelby Troutman gave the Treasurer’s balance.
Under Old Business, Anna reported that the 4-H website is up and running. Please encourage any members to enroll as soon as possible.
Under New Business, Anna shared that the next post fair meeting is February 13, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Vo-Ag Building. Each club is responsible for paying $10 per member into the Salary Account. Each club is requested to bring some nominees for the Hall of Fame nomination.
The 4-H Achievement Event is set for March 3, 2019. Kristy needs a member and a parent from each club to be on the committee.
The Royalty Committee is requesting one member and one adult from each club to be on the committee. Each club needs to let Kristy know their voting delegates.
February 16 is the 4-H Expo from 10:00 – 2:00 p.m. in Hannibal, Missouri. Club officer training will be February 7,2019. Teen Conference is March 16-17. Any 11-13 year old member is eligible to attend.
Under Announcements, the SMQA training is tentatively set for March 13, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Weigh-in dates for 2019 are: BEEF – Saturday, January 16 from 2-3 at the Sale Barn; Sheep and Swine – Saturday, April 6 at 2:00 p.m. at the SC Fairgrounds; Goats – Sunday, May 5 from 2:00 – 3:00 at the SC Fairgrounds. Dog practice will begin Monday, January 21st at the SC Elementary gym. The meeting was then adjourned.
