Bible Grove Preservation Day will be held Saturday, August 16th at the Bible Grove School Building in Bible Grove, MO. This will mark the 25th anniversary of this annual celebration.
The day’s events will kick-off at 10:00 a.m. with a Trap Shoot. The Food Stand and Museum Room will also open at 10:00 a.m. The Food Stand will remain open throughout the day until 5:00 p.m. For more information about the Trap Shoot, contact Lisa Wells at 883-5623.
At 12:00 Noon, a Kettle Beans and Corn Bread Dinner will be served followed by the Indian Creek Muzzle Loaders Black Powder Shoot at 1:00 p.m. For more information about this event, contact Max Hamilton at 465-2206.
At 2:00 p.m. the Straw Scramble, Jail House, and Dime Toss will open. The Cake Walk starts at 3:00 p.m.
A Catfish Fry Supper will be served at 6:00 p.m. Cost for the supper is $8 per person and $3 for ages 10 and under.
The evening’s entertainment starts at 7:00 p.m. with a DJ and Karaoke.
At 8:00 p.m. there will be a drawing for a chance to win a 50/50 pot, Tool Set, Drill Set, Patio Set and a Tool Box.
Raffle tickets will also be available for a Ruger 22/45 Handgun. The drawing for this gun will be October 17, 2014.
Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy some old-fashioned fun! Please bring your own lawn chairs.
The Bible Grove School is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. All proceeds and donations will go towards the preservation of the school house. Please help support a part of Scotland County’s history.
