HAZEL LORRAINE KAPFER
(8/15/1930 - 12/13/2013)
Hazel Lorraine Kapfer, 83, of Memphis, Missouri passed away Friday morning, December 13, 2013, at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis. The daughter of Humel and Hazel Ludwick Donaldson, she was born August 15, 1930 in Scotland County, Missouri.
She graduated from the Memphis High School in 1948 and pursued a career in the nursing field earning a degree as a LPN. She worked at the Scotland County Hospital for a long time and at the Manor Care in Kirksville as well.
Some of her interests were gardening, working with flowers and other yard work, spending time with her family, attending church activities, and curling up with a book in her spare time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Naomi; son, Daniel; brother, Jerome Donaldson; and a sister, Roberta Donaldson Kapfer.
Surviving relatives include her children, Stephen Kapfer of Baring, Missouri, Mark Kapfer and his wife Jovelyn of Gilbert, Arizona and Joel Kapfer and his wife Sheri of Memphis, Missouri; a brother, Charles Donaldson of Kirksville, Missouri; her sister, Lois Harris-Donaldson of Glendale, Arizona; grandchildren, Brandi Kapfer, Erin Taylor, Tyrel Kapfer, Hannah Kapfer, Jarrett Kapfer, Casey Langen, Paige Merritt, Jacob Kapfer, and Danielle Telliz; 10 great-grandchildren also survive, along with many cousins, aunts and uncles and friends.
Memorials are suggested to either the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation or the Greensburg Cemetery Association and can be left at the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 East Madison St. Memphis, Missouri 63555.
Funeral services were held Monday morning, December 16, 2013, at 10:30 at the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis, Missouri with John Bode officiating. Interment followed in the Greensburg Cemetery in Knox County, Missouri.
Pallbearers were Jeff Adams, Jake Bair, Tyrel Kapfer, Joel Kapfer, Jacob Kapfer, Jeff Taylor, Russ Phillips and Stephen Kapfer. Musicians were Danielle Bair vocalist and Pam Blaine organist.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis, Missouri.
