ROBERT (BOB) BLAINE BARNHART

Robert Blaine Barnhart, 85 of Memphis, Missouri passed away at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri on Friday, August 2, 2013.
The son of James Lee and Ida Mabel (McClellan) Barnhart, he was born on August 20, 1927 in Lucas, Iowa. On March 10, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was united in marriage to Imogene (McCarty) Graham.
Survivors include one sister, Maxine Struble and husband, Phil of Memphis, Missouri; one brother, Warren Barnhart and wife, Bess of McPherson, Kansas; nine step-children; several nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law, Ardis Barnhart of Deep River, Iowa, Josephine Rainer of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Jean Chaney of Kirksville, Missouri; and many good friends.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Imogene on July 17, 2012; six brothers, Dewey, Darl, Rondal, Ralph Barnhart, and two brothers in infancy; two sisters, Claudia Finley and Thelma Darlene Sullivan.
Robert served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years and after being honorably discharged, he was employed for 17 years with Hollister, Inc. in the Shipping Department. Robert was a very active member of the Kirksville Moose Lodge in Kirksville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri officiating. Music included special CD selections of "Now Is The Hour" and "In The Garden". Pallbearers were Robert's nephews.
Memorials have been established for the St. John's Cemetery. Burial was in the St. John's Cemetery in Livonia, Missouri with military rites conducted by the Scotland County VFW Post 4958. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging onto normanfh.com.
