RACHEL L. BREWER

Rachel L. Brewer, 88, of Keosauqua died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua. She was born April 14, 1924 near Granger, Missouri to Liona and Ella Justice Eichelberger and married Johnnie Brewer December 23, 1939 at Ft. Madison. He died November 24, 1985.

Rachel grew up in the Granger/Mt. Sterling, Iowa area and lived many years in Keosauqua, Iowa. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband in his garage business.

Surviving are a daughter, Ellen Kreiss of Keosauqua, a son, James Brewer of Fairfield, and a daughter-in-law, Melody Brewer of Mt. Sterling; three grandchildren, Teresa McIntosh (Kevin) of Keosauqua, and Charles and Tara Brewer of Mt. Sterling; a granddaughter-in-law, Tracey Kreiss of Keosauqua; and four great-grandchildren, Derek Philips (Jillian) and Tyson Kreiss (Alyse) of Fairfield, and Bryce Philips and Colton Kreiss of Keosauqua.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Charles Brewer, a son-in-law, Arlo Kreiss, a grandson, Richard Kreiss, and a great-granddaughter, Taryn Philips.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Lee McIntosh officiating. Burial was in Harness Cemetery, Mt. Sterling.
