Driver Injured After Falling Asleep at Wheel
A Williamstown man suffered moderate injuries in a one-car crash on Friday morning in Scotland County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Cory R. Wagers, 40, was eastbound on Highway 136 in a 2003 Buick LeSabre when he fell asleep at the wheel. The car crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the roadway where it struck a ditch and overturned onto its side.
Wagers was transported by Scotland County Ambulance to Scotland County Hospital in Memphis.
The crash occurred at 8:10 a.m. on July 26th approximately two miles east of Memphis.
The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Sheriff's Office, Scotland County Fire and Rescue and the ambulance service.
The vehicle sustained total damage and was removed from the scene by Brewer and Sons Towing of Kahoka.
