Guest Pastor From India to Speak at St. Paul's This Sunday
Rev. Jaya Prabhakar Bijjiga will lead the worship service this Sunday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, north highway 15. The service begins at 10:15 a.m. The congregation and visitors will share in fellowship following the service. Refreshments will be served.
Rev. Bijjiga and his wife immigrated to the USA in 1990 following the move of members of the family who immigrated earlier in 1970. They hail from Andhrapradesh in South India. Pastor's Bijjiga's wife, Pravi, son Stephen, daughter Snigdha and three grandchildren Elisha, Madalyn and Caleb are all now residents in the States.
Pastor Bijjiga and family were well rooted in the Church in India and when they settled in the Midwest, Jaya Bijjiga entered Concordia Seminary in St. Louis and began his studies for the ministry. His vicarage was served at Trinity Lutheran in Soulard, St. Louis. Subsequent ministries in which Pastor Bijjiga was engaged included pastoral service at St.John Lutheran Church in Forest Park, IL and ten years of service for the Missouri District as Counselor for Asian Indians in the USA. Following his service at Zion in Lutheran Church, Maryland Heights, MO he continues to work as a coordinator and missioner for Indian churches in the Midwest.
