Memphis Man Hurt in Crash on U.S. 136
A medical condition is being blamed for a one-vehicle accident in Scotland County at 4:29 p.m. on Friday, May 10th that left the driver with minor injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Walter B. Shirk, was eastbound on Highway 136, six miles west of Memphis when the 2011 Ford F-150 he was driving ran off the roadway. The Patrol indicated a medical condition suffered by the driver caused Shirk's vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway. The pickup returned to the roadway and then traveled off the right side of the road, striking a ditch and overturning.
Shirk was transported by Scotland County Ambulance to Scotland County Hospital in Memphis.
The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Sheriff's Office, Memphis Police Department, the ambulance service and Scotland County Fire and Rescue.
