After the war, Charles returned to the farm where he was born. He was married to Venita Jean Childress of Granger, on June 14, 1970. She graduated from Truman with a master's degree in education in 1964. She passed away Aug. 21, 2004 at the age of 74. Charles passed away Sept. 7, 2009 at the age of 92.
