Lady Tigers Finish 4th at Home Track Meet

Putnam County stood tall against the competition Thursday in Memphis. The Lady Midgets topped the seven team field at the Scotland County Relays, easily outdistancing their Tri-Rivers Conference foes, amassing 140 points. Knox County finished second with 117 points followed by former conference rival Clark County with 87 points.
Scotland County finished fourth on the day with 79 points, besting North Shelby (42), Schuyler County (32) and Milan (8).
Loren Smith dominated the throwing events to account for 20 of her team's points. She won the shot put with a toss of 36'9", nearly four-feet further than the runner up.
Smith was also tops in the discus, with a distance of 114'. That more than doubled the fifth place toss and easily was better than the second place distance of 92'.
Randi Slaughter finished second in the long jump and earned third place points in the 200-meter dash. The freshman also took fourth in the triple jump.
Renay Friendshuh finished third in the 3,200 meter run followed by teammate Paige McClamroch in fourth. Friendshuh also took sixth in the 1,600-meter run.
Mazy Gray earned third place in the 800-meter run. Kylee Johnston finished fourth in the 400-meter dash while Alexis Dodge was fifth in the 100-meter dash.
Scotland County's 4x400-meter relay team finished second as did the school's 4x200 relay team. The Lady Tigers were fourth in the 4x100.
