Stone, Mathes Earn All-Conference Basketball Honors

A pair of Scotland County seniors were honored by the coaches of the Tri-Rivers Conference among the league's best. Harley Stone was named to the TRC First Team All-Conference Squad and Andrew Mathes was honored on the second team.

Putnam County claimed the conference title with a 7-3 record and also took home the top honors. Junior Deion Hunt was named the TRC most valuable player while his coach Jamie Tipton earned coach of the year honors.

Joining Hunt and Stone on the first team were seniors Mason Clark of Milan and John Stoneburner of North Shelby as well as Knox County sophomore Royce Poore.

Mathes led off the second team honorees, Also receiving recognition were Trey Ream, a junior from Putnam County, Derek Price, a senior from Milan, Donovan Edwards, a sophomore from Knox County and Jordan Wheeler, a senior from Schuyler County.

Stone led Scotland County to a 6-4 record in the conference, averaging a team best 13.4 points per contest. He was second on the squad with 6.8 rebounds per game and also averaged 3.2 assists and 1.6 blocks per contest.

Mathes was the team's leading rebounder, grabbing an average of 9.4 boards a game. He was second on the squad with a 9.7 scoring average and was the team leader in blocks.

The Tigers finished second in the standings, ahead of Knox County (5-5), and North Shelby (4-6), Milan (4-6) and Schuyler County (4-6).
