VIRGINIA R ROBERTS

Virginia Rae Roberts, age 83, of Logan, Iowa passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 at the Westmont Care Center in Logan, Iowa.
Virginia was born July 21, 1929 in the northern part of Missouri to Robert James and Mary Jane (McIntosh) Baker. Virginia graduated from high school in Milton, Iowa. She was married to Stanley Roberts in 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. They have resided in Logan since 1970. Before that they called Arbela home.
Virginia accepted Christ as her Savior when she was a young woman. She attended the Arbela Baptist Church in Arbela while they lived in Missouri. After moving to Iowa they were very active in the Landmark Baptist Church in Logan. Virginia enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband Stanley of Logan, Iowa; children: Michaelene (Mikie) Cochran and husband Lonnie of Memphis, Missouri; Marchal Roberts and wife Pat of Kahoka, Missouri; Max Roberts of Logan, Iowa; Marla Chard and husband Larry of Appleton, Wisconsin; ten grandchildren, Dana Cochran Robbins, Danny Cochran, Darrin Cochran, Kris Roberts, Kendra Monk, Missy Larsen, Matthew Roberts, Alisa Apitz, Daniel Field and Jarrod Field; nineteen great-grandchildren, Marti, Matthew, and Morgan Robbins, Becca Sevier, Cash Cochran, Michael, Timmy and Jade Roberts, Kloey Fairall, Karma and Kam Monk, Amelia and Adalynn Apitz, Taylor, Garrett, Mikaila, Shyanne, and Elijah Field; sisters, Mary Louise Price of LeGrand, Iowa; Beverly Grogan of Aurora, Colorado; brother, Ronald Baker of Aurora, Colorado; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, Earl and Enid Roberts, Richard and Lois Roberts, Florence Francis, Kathleen Charbonneau, and Darlene Roberts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, and life-long friend, Jean Davis of Logan, Iowa.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, baby Roberts, son Martin (Marty) D. Roberts, grandchildren, Jill and Nicole Roberts; two brothers, Ralph and Richard Baker; three sisters, Twila Ward, Roberta Baker, and Geneva Clark; brothers-in-law, Joe Ward, Cecil Clark, Don Price, Bill Grogan, Oscar Francis, Benny Charbonneau, and Jim Roberts.
Funeral services were held October 24, 2012, at Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa. Her final resting place is Greenwood Cemetery, Logan, Iowa. Officiating the services were Pastor Randy Williams and Pastor Andrew Shank. Casket bearers were Danny Cochran, Darrin Cochran, Kent Monk, Eugene Larsen, Daniel Field, and Jarrod Field. Honorary bearers were Dana Cochran Robbins, Marti Robbins, Matthew Robbins, Morgan Robbins, Kendra Monk, Missy Larsen, Alisa Apitz, and Matthew Roberts.
Memorials have been suggested to the Landmark Baptist Church in Logan, Iowa. Services were under the direction of Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa.
