Michael Larry Doubet, 52, Memphis, Missouri, died Friday, March 2, 2012 from injuries sustained in a truck accident near La Plata, Missouri.

He was born August 2, 1959 at Peoria, Illinois to Larry Gene and Evelina Rose Cochran Doubet.

He grew up in Illinois and graduated in 1977 from Alexis High School.

He married Pamela Ann Garrett on September 29, 1989, at the First Christian Church in Memphis, Missouri and to this union two sons were born.

He lived out his Christian walk daily.

He owned and operated Doubet Pallet & Cycle in Memphis.

Michael enjoyed riding motorcycles and singing. He had written several songs about Jesus. He had a passionate love for his sons and realized his greatest enjoyment when he could spend time with them.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Doubet, of Memphis; two sons: Zachary Doubet of Memphis and Christopher Doubet, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Patuxent River, Maryland and his fiancÚ, Michelle Luncsford. Other survivors include his father, Larry Doubet and his wife, Anna, of North Henderson, Illinois; his mother, Evelina Cline and her husband, Leon, of Galesburg, Illinois; his mother-in-law, Beverly Garrett of Memphis; three brothers: Louis Doubet of Hanna City, Illinois; Joe Doubet and his wife, Jackie, of Arbela, Missouri; Brian Doubet and his wife, Toni, of Galesburg, Illinois; a brother-in-law, Allen Garrett of Memphis; two nieces, Jordyn Doubet and Grace Garrett; three nephews: Caleb Doubet, Daniel Doubet and Andy Garrett and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father-in-law, Vilas (Fat) Garrett.

A visitation opened after 4 P.M. Monday, March 5th at the Memphis Funeral Home with the family present to greet relatives and friends from 6 until 8 P.M. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 6th at 11 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Jarvis officiating. Music was provided by Schelle Cooley, vocalist and Beverly Givens, pianist. Cremation will follow the service.

Honorary casket bearers will be Caleb Doubet, Daniel Doubet, Andy Garrett, George Eggers, Jim Wood, Josh Ebeling and Levi Woolloms. To honor Michael's memory, a memorial is being established by his family and may be left at or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri 63555.
