Chamber Sponsoring Photo Contest for Scotland County
Young, old, professional or beginner... it doesn't matter. All the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce wants is your pictures. The local group is sponsoring a photo contest to identify images to be used in future marketing programs by the merchant association.
Cash prizes will be awarded for top finishers in three categories, professional, amateur and youth. First place will win $50 in Memphis Bucks with second place earning $30 in Memphis Bucks and third place taking home $10 in the promotional currency redeemable at any MACC member.
"We are looking for photographs that help tell the story of Scotland County and Memphis," said organizer Yvonne Brown, MACC treasurer. "We are looking to represent the four distinct seasons with historical landmarks and buildings, animals that are a natural part of these landscapes, as well as people, who have helped make Scotland County and Memphis what they are today."
To be eligible for the contest, submit an entry form along with either a 5x7 or 8x10 print of the photo, as well as the negative or digital copy of the image. Digital submissions may be mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or can be submitted on CD or jump drive along with the print and entry form at The Print Shop at 123 S. Main Street in Memphis.
Each photographer may submit up to three entries. The youth category is open to those age 10-17.
Once the photos have been submitted, they become the property of the MACC and may be used in future marketing materials. The MACC plans to use the images in the group's marketing booth at the "Fall in Love with Northeast Missouri" event set for Jefferson City in February.
Deadline for entry in the photo contest is December 11th at noon.
Judging will be completed by MACC members and winners will be announced in January.
