Downing Man Recaptured Following Brief Escape Attempt
A Downing man is facing several charges after attempting to flee from law enforcement officers who were questioning him following his arrest on suspicion of burglary. The incident occurred at the Schuyler County Sheriff's Office at the courthouse in Lancaster on September 7th.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Keaton W. Baker, 21, was arrested following a brief escape attempt that lasted less than three city blocks.
Keaton was recaptured a short distance from the court house at 2:50 p.m., moments after fleeing from officers during a break in his interview with officers regarding a burglary investigation.
He has been charged with the class D felony of escape from custody while under arrest for a felony; the class D felony of resisting/interfering with an arrest for a felony; and a class A misdemeanor of failure to stop or obey a reasonable signal direction of a highway patrolman.
He is being held in the Adair County Detention Center on a $20,000 cash only bond.
