Car Show Caps Off Busy Saturday at 2012 Antique Fair



The People's Choice award winner at the 2012 Scotland County Antique Fair Car Show went to Kenny Ball with his 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air.


The Scotland County Antique Fair car show was into full swing Saturday afternoon when foul weather approached. The volunteers worked diligently to finalize the results and hand out the awards as quickly as possible. Hopefully most everyone made the journey home without harming their vehicles. The winners are as follows;

All makes and models 1900-1939: third place went to Wiggins Family Museum, 1925 Ford "T" Roadster; second place went to H. Wayne Nelson, 1939 Mercury; and first place went to Cliff Tipton, 1936 Ford 4 door Convertible.

All makes and models 1940-1959: third place went to Curt Devan, 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk; second place went to Don Coltrain, 1959 Dodge D-500; and first place went to Norman Stupensky, 1955 Ford Sunliner.

All makes and models 1960-1969: third place went to Stanley and Brenda Boltz, 1967 Ford Fairlane GTA; second place went to Duane and Sandy Arnold, 1968 Pontiac Firebird; and first place went to Ron Collins, 1966 Dodge Coronet 440.

All makes and models 1970-1979: third place went to Michael Monroe, 1970 Pontiac LeMans; second place went to Mike Smith, 1970 Cadillac DeVille; and first place went to Heath Simpson, 1972 Chevy ElCamino.

All makes and models 1980-1985: third place went to Brian Scheurer, 1986 Olds Cutlass Supreme; second place went to John and DeeDee Eggleston, 1991 Dodge Stealth; and first place went to John Beckert, 1991 Acura NSX.

All makes and models 1996 & newer: third place went to Chris Standfurs, 1999 Pontiac Firebird; second place went to Kathy Calvert, 2006 BMW MiniCooper S; and first place went to Dan Proctor, 2005 Dodge Viper.

All Thunderbirds: third place went to John Buckman, 1993 T-bird; second place went to Dan Duryee and Jeanie, 1959 T-bird; and first place went to Francis Frazier, 1956 T-bird.

All Corvettes 1973 & older: first place went to Boyd and Jeannie Bissell, in memory of Travis Bissell, 1959 Corvette.

All Corvettes 1974 & newer: third place went to John and Sherrie Hayes. 1975 Corvette; second place went to Ron Armstrong, 1975 Corvette; and first place went to John and DeeDee Eggleston, 2008 Corvette.

All Chevelles: second place went to Doug McIntyre, 1972 Chevelle, and first place went to Mike Smith, 1970 Chevelle.

All Camaros 1992 & older: first place went to Joyce and Joe Harvey, 1989 Camaro.

All Camaros 1993 & newer: first place went to Zach Long, 1994 Z-28 Camaro.

All Mustangs 1973 & older: third place went to Eric Johnson, 1967 Mustang; second place went to Joe and Kelly Conway, 1969 Mustang GT; and first place went to John and Carol Bennagel, 1970 Mustang.

All Mustangs 1974 & newer: third place went to Steve Mortimer, 2003 Mach 1; second place went to Jeff Irvin, 2003 Cobra SVT; and first place went to Rod Smith, 2006 Mustang.

Original Factory Muscle thru 1972: third place went to Warren Douglas, 1970 Ford Torino GT; second place went to Carl Kapfer, 1967 Chevy Chevelle Supersport; and first place went to Ron and Arloa Atkinson, 1967 Olds 442.

Rods to 1949: third place went to Richard and Linda Clark, 1940 Chevrolet Deluxe; second place went to Sandy Boegner, 1932 Chevrolet Roadster; and first place went to Larry Brown, 1930 Ford "A".

Street Machines: third place went to Ron Kutzner, 1955 Chevrolet 210; second place went to Garry King, 1956 Chevrolet DelRay; and first place went to Kent Calvert, 1955 Chevrolet Handyman Special.

All 2-wheel drive trucks 1939 & older: second place went to Robert Owings, 1939 Ford, and first place went to Dale Priebe, 1920 Ford "T".

All 2-wheel drive trucks 1940-1972: third place went to Alan and Kay Park, 1950 Chevrolet 3100; second place went to Robert Owings, 1955 Ford; and first place went to Chuck Reedy, 1941 Plymouth.

All 2-wheel drive trucks 1973 & newer: second place went to James Mathes, 1993 Chevrolet Silverado; and first place went to Ellis Speer, 1987 Chevrolet ElCamino.

All 4-wheel drive trucks 1973 & newer: second place went to Renee Coltraine. 2003 Chevrolet 1500; and first place went to Chase Hines, 1995 Ford Bronco.

Mini trucks: first place went to Kevin Coltrain and Brandy Morris, 1993 Chevrolet S-10.

Motorcycles, all Harley Davidson: third place went to Richard McCoy, 2003 Heritage Softail Springer; second place went to Kevin and Jeannette Fogle, 2012 Ultra Classic; and first place went to Mark Glasscock, 1977 Harley FX.

Motorcycles, all others: third place went to Chris VanHoozen, 2002 Honda 1800 VTX; second place went to Ron Anderson, 2012 Hudson Stinger Reverse Tryke; and first place went to Alice Jordan, 1970 Volkswagen Tryke.

Mayor's Choice: Kevin and Jeannette Fogle, 2012 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic.

People's Choice: Kenny Ball, 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air.
