Memphis Man Arrested for Leaving Scene of an Accident
A Memphis man is facing a felony charge following a traffic accident early Easter morning. According to court documents, Calvin L. Duncan, 27, was ticketed for class D felony leaving the scene of an accident as well as driving while intoxicated - prior offender.
The Memphis Police Department was dispatched to 413 E. Madison Street at 2:13 a.m. in reference to a traffic accident.
Upon arrival, officers found a tan GMC pickup, which had impacted a minivan parked in the private drive of the residence. The truck had apparently pulled into the driveway and impacted the rear of the van, causing extensive damage. The driver of the truck had fled the scene.
Officers were able to determine ownership of the vehicle, and following a brief investigation, identified Duncan as the driver. He was returned to the scene by a Memphis Police officer and was placed under arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Duncan was transported to the Scotland County Jail where he is being held on a $7,500 cash only bond.
