Election Filing Open For Six County Offices
Filing for six county offices officially opened February 28th and voters will be deciding at least one race in November.
County Clerk Batina Dodge indicated that candidates have filed for five of the six offices during the early portion of the filing period, which is open through March 27th. Candidates can file until 5 p.m. that day in the county clerk's office.
Western District Commissioner Paul Campbell refiled on the Democrat ticket. He will be opposed by George Frederick, who filed on the Republican ballot.
Incumbents Ginny Monroe (Dem.), Danette Clatt (Rep.) and Jim Ward (Rep.) all have filed for reelection. Monroe serves as the county coroner. Ward is the county assessor and Clatt serves as the eastern district commissioner.
Kelly Cochran has filed for the position of public administrator on the Republican ticket. Incumbent Ellen Aylward has not filed for reelection.
No one has filed for the office of county sheriff as of March 12th.
