Historical Society Pheasant Sub-Committee Hosts Meeting
Scotland County Historical Society Pheasant sub-committee met Saturday, March 3, 2012. Meeting was brought to order by sub-committee Chairman Fred Clapp at 6:00 p.m. Thanks to Chris Feeney several people have cut the pledge card out of the Memphis Democrat and sent donations for the purchase of the Pheasant aircraft.
According to the subcommittee Treasurer Peggy Brown, the current cash and pledges on hand exceed $56,000 and have been turned over to the SCHC treasury.
Stan Myers reported on progress on the rigging of the truck in preparation of the return trip from Long Island New York.
The Memphis Masonic Lodge #16, announced a dine-in or carry out Pork Loin Dinner to be held March 10, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. at the Memphis United Methodist Church. All proceeds will go to the treasurer of the Pheasant, the price, Free Will Donation!
Continued support by the community is still needed to rap this fund drive up and return the plane to home by the first of April.
Souvenir Pheasant ball caps are available at RPM, located on Rt. 136 Memphis, with proceeds going to the fund drive. See Sara Jo, she will sew one up for you. The committee is pleased with the progress and looking forward to getting the plane home in April. Meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
