Memphis to Host Dairy Day Program February 16th
The annual Memphis Dairy Day program will be held Thursday, February 16th at the Scotland County Fitness Center. After being hosted at the Scotland County Fire Station for many years, the program moved to the fitness center last year.
The program will run from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with lunch provided courtesy of several sponsoring businesses.
There is no cost to attend and all interested dairymen are invited to participate.
The program will include Forage Seeding Management by Alix Carpenter, MU Extension Agronomy Specialist; Outlook for the Dairy Business and Current Land Values by Joe Koenen, MU Extension Agri-Business Specialist; Pasture Based Dairies in Missouri by Tony Rickard, MU Dairy Specialist; Understanding Programs Available to the Dairyman.
Of special interest will be Barry Steevens, MU State Dairy Specialist, presenting on "What You Need to Know if You are a Dairyman Today." Booths will be set up all day until 3:30 p.m., with time over lunch to visit the displays.
The program would not be possible without the help and financial support of sponsors, who will provide the meal at noon and help support this program. A complete list of sponsors will be available that day.
