The eighth grade boys' basketball team had their season ended December 14 at the hands of the Kirksville Tigers. The season did end on a sour note with the loss, but it did not spoil an otherwise, very successful season for the young Tigers.

Austin Howes had 4 while Joshua Adams, Michael Howard, Sturgis Knupp, and Chayton Cerroni added buckets off the bench to spark the Tiger scoring barrage. Zach Curry played stellar, lock-down defense to help hold the Rams to just 10 points.

The team then cruised past Schuyler again with a 40-19 victory. It was a Doubet show as Caleb had 13 points with cousin Zach scoring 10. Sturgis Knupp and Zach Curry each added 4 in the win.
Scotland continued their long road tour with a 39-29 win at North Shelby. Orton and Zach Doubet each added 10 and Michael Howard scored 4, fourth quarter points to put the game away.
Caleb Doubet scored 16 points in the Tigers next win over the Knox County Eagles. The Tigers exploded for 60 points in the win with Jade Holt and Brendan Orton each adding 10 and the whole Tiger roster scoring in the 60-29 rout of the Eagles. Austin Howes, Joshua Adams, and Sturgis Knupp combined for 7 points in the final quarter.
SC again pounded Schuyler 2 games in a row at Queen City with a 40-8 and a 34-21 win. Orton scored 17 points in the 40-8 win while Jade Holt poured in 15 in the 34-21 win. Howes also added 7 in the latter game.

The Tigers of Kirksville growled a little bit louder in the final game of the season in the Schuyler Tournament Championship with a 41-36 defeat of the Tigers of Memphis. Zach Doubet scored 14 points in the loss.
The Tigers finished the season at 12-2, providing some excitement for the SCR-1 basketball program to come. Tigers Varsity coach, Lance Campbell was pleased with what he saw from the boys and looks forward to adding this squad to his Varsity mix next year.
