Creek Named to All Region All-Star Softball Team
The post season awards continue to roll in for the Scotland County softball program. The Lady Tigers junior pitcher, Megan Creek, was recently honored by the coaches of the northeast region.
Creek was named to the second team of the Class 1 Region 2 all-star squad.
Harrisburg hurler Kimberly Roberts was honored on the first team along with Brashear's Cierra Hines, Makay Belt of La Plata and Ashley Hollocher of Clopton.
Creek was joined on the second team by fellow hurlers Rachel Poston of Knox County and Makenzie Hombs of Westran.
Harrisburg, which advanced to the Class 1 final four, dominated the all region team, with four players on the first team. Brashear, which upset both Scotland County and Knox County to claim a district title, placed two players on the first team, while fellow champions Bevier only had one first team player, infielder Dominico Prokey.
Knox County's Bailey Couch was named the first team catcher along with Brashear's Meredith Thomas and Lindsay Barnhart of Silex.
First team outfielders were Chelsea Kroese of Harrisburg, Mallory Eitel of La Plata, Kayla Parrish of Clopton and Maddie Embree of Sturgeon.
First team infielders were Natalie Fleming of Silex, Bobbi Mathews of Harrisburg, Shelby McCawley of Westran, Kassi Blakemore of Harrisburg and Prokey.
