Tigers Well Represented at Do-or-Die Bowl VIII All-Star Football Game
Hard work speaks volumes! That's what Rod Sears #14, Sabe Sears #1, and Will See #55 will tell you. The former Scotland County gridiron trio participated in the annual Chris Duer, KHQA, Do Or Die Bowl on Saturday, June 25 at Culver-Stockton College.
The annual game pits the best gridiron graduates from Illinois (EAST) against the best from Missouri (WEST).
This year the East prevailed 24-14. Will See and Sabe Sears played on the first team offense for the West. Sabe caught two passes for 71 yards, one being a big 61 yard reception setting up a late score for the West, while Will anchored the offensive line at left tackle.
Rod Sears made his presence known on defense as he intercepted a pass that led to a late, first half touchdown for the West squad. Rod was honored as defense player of the game for the West All-Stars for his efforts.
The young men practiced all week at South Shelby High School and were honored with a barbecue on Friday evening for players and their parents.
Caleb Kittle, Kyle Shelley, and Justin Winn are also former Tiger players who have participated in the annual game.
