Memphis Opens American Legion Baseball Season
The Memphis American Legion baseball team opened a rigorous summer schedule with a pair of double-headers held in Memphis over the weekend.
Memphis hosted two games versus Chillicothe on Saturday and followed up with a double header versus Canton on Sunday.
The team gets a bit of a breather, with its next action set for June 15th with a single game to be played at Highland starting at 6 p.m.
Memphis will host a double header versus Moberly on Saturday, June 18th, starting at 1 p.m. The squad will hit the road on Sunday to play two at Chillicothe before returning home for a pair of games versus Quincy on Sunday, June 26th at 2 p.m.
On Monday, June 27th, the team will host Hannibal for a Monday night game set to start at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 29th will see Memphis travelling to La Plata for a 6 p.m. game.
On Saturday, July 2nd, Memphis will head to Moberly for a double header starting at 1 p.m.
Friday, July 8th will open a busy weekend for the Memphis team. The team will head to Hannibal for a Friday night game set to get underway at 6:30 p.m. The following day the team will be in Canton to play a pair of games getting underway at 1 p.m. The road trip carries over to Sunday, when the team will play a double header in Quincy, IL beginning at 2 p..m.
The squad will get just a couple days off before traveling to Edina on July 12th for a 6 p.m. game.
The regular season will conclude on Wednesday, July 13th with a home game versus La Plata at 6 p.m.
The American Legion District Tournament is scheduled for July 15-17 with times and location to be announced.
