Jackson's Career Night Leads Lady Tigers to League Win
Courtney Jackson was thrust into Scotland County's starting lineup last month after SCR-I lost a pair of players to injuries.
On Tuesday night in Shelbyville, Jackson looked right at home in her new role. The junior guard poured in a career-high 19 points to lead Scotland County to a key conference victory over North Shelby.
Jackson got rolling early, scoring nine points in the opening period as SCR-I built a 14-7 advantage.
Skyler Alderton canned her second three pointer of the contest and Hailey Dial also connected from behind the arc in the second period as the Lady Tigers pushed the lead to 29-16 at halftime.
Scotland County went to its post players in the third period. Aimee Dale and Jamie Shaw accounted for all 10 points in the frame. SCR-I's defense clamped down on North Shelby, allowing just two field goals in the quarter, allowing the team to pad its cushion to 39-20.
Jackson sealed the deal with six points down the stretch as SCR-I rolled to the 51-25 Tri Rivers Conference win.
Jackson led all scorers with 19 points. SCR-I improved to 15-5 and 6-1 in the TRC. Shaw finished with 11 points and Alderton added eight points. North Shelby was led in scoring by Elizabeth Linberger with 15 points.
