Junior Varsity Teams Gearing up For 2011 Season

Both Scotland County junior varsity teams should be chomping at the bit to get 2011 started after a very limited schedule at the start of the current basketball season.

The Lady Tigers jayvee squad is 2-0 after wins over Schuyler County and Highland.

SCR-I beat the Rams 39-16 on November 29th. Bethany Rader led a balanced scoring attack with eight points. Jessica Morrow had seven points and Hailie Stone, Hailey Dial and Katie Howard each had six points.

The Lady Tigers bested Highland 32-12 behind nine points from Stone. Howard pitched in with eight points and Morrow had six points.

The boys lost to Schuyler County 42-29. Brice Cowell had 12 points and Cordie Kigar had six points.

Highland knocked off the Tigers 51-38 on November 30th. Kigar canned three, three pointers in the fourth quarter to finish with 14 points. Lucas Howard pitched in with 10 points and Cowell finished with nine.

The teams traveled to Knox County on January 4th to start a busy week. On Thursday night the teams will host Schuyler County and will be at home again for a double header Monday, January 10th versus North Shelby before hosting Putnam County the following night in Memphis as well.
