Joseph E. Antal, 81 of Lancaster, Missouri passed away at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri on Wednesday, December 7, 2011.

The son of Egnatz and Elizabeth (Spotilla) Antal, Joseph was born on June 30, 1930 in Gary, Indiana. On November 2, 1952 in Schneider, Indiana, Joseph was united in marriage to Frances Elaine McColley and to this union 6 children were born, Joseph E., Randy, Dan, Elizabeth Elaine, Tim, Mark and an adopted son, Duane.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Antal of Lancaster, Missouri; children, Randy Antal and wife, Mary of Lancaster, Missouri, Dan Antal of Queen City, Missouri, Tim Antal of Columbia, Missouri, Mark Antal and wife, Cindy of Lancaster, Missouri and an adopted son, Duane Antal of Louisiana; grandchildren, Jessica Tinkle and husband, Roger of Memphis, Missouri, Jon Antal and wife, Lyndsi of Lancaster, Missouri, Rachel Antal of Lancaster, Missouri, Jennifer and Jeremiah Brogan of Queen City, Missouri, Stephanie Winter of Queen City, Missouri, Lacy Antal and friend, Cale Brimer of Downing, Missouri, Kylie Antal of Memphis, Missouri, Joey Antal and Damian Antal of Lancaster, Missouri; step-grandchildren, Sean, Lance, Skip and Larry of Indiana; great-grandchildren, Zackary and Zoe Tinkle of Memphis, Missouri, Casen Antal of Lancaster, Missouri, Moragan VerKuilen of Lancaster, Missouri, Randy Winter of Drakesville, Iowa and Tennyson Brogan of Queen City, Missouri; one grand puppy, Tobi; one brother-in-law, Virgil (Mac) (Sonny) McColley and wife, Kathy of San Diego, California; other family members and many good friends.

Joseph is preceded in death by his parents; 1 son, Joseph E. Antal Jr. and his wife, Rosie; 1 daughter, Elizabeth Elaine Antal; 2 brothers, John Antal and Steve Antal; and 2 sisters, Helen (Antal) Przybylski and Mary (Antal) Yahl.

Joseph and Elaine moved to Lancaster, Missouri thirty years ago where he was a farmer and also owned and operated Antal Enterprises. He also co-pastored River of Life Church east of Lancaster, Missouri with his wife, Elaine since 1984.

Joseph was a caring and compassionate husband, father and grandfather. He was a man who enjoyed life with his passion of farming, working on equipment and talking with friends and neighbors.

Memorial services were held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Reverend Robert Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma officiating. Organist, Maureen Watkins and soloist, Amee Jones, provided music. Special music selections were "Amazing Grace", "Something Beautiful" and "Jesus Is the Sweetest Name I Know". Memorials have been established for the River of Life Church or the Schuyler County Food Room. Burial will be at a later date as the body has been cremated.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
