HUGHIE LEE CLINE

Hughie Lee Cline, 59, of Memphis, died at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, on November 23, 2011 at 11:36 PM. He passed as a result of brain damage related to a recent fall.
Hughie was born on January 20, 1952, in Keokuk, Iowa, to his parents Dillard and Demma Cline. As a lifelong resident of Memphis, he worked at the Foundry and the Memphis Water Purification Plant. He received a heart transplant at St. Louis University Hospital 22½ years ago, making him a medical miracle. He was a member of the Memphis Masonic Lodge #16, where he was a past Master and was knighted within the Knights Templar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dillard and Demma; three sisters, Shirley, Jody, and Janice; and his brother, Jim Russell.
He is survived by the love of his life, Kathy; his 8 children Todd and wife Lezah, Chris and wife Sarah, Jeff and wife Kate, Angel and husband John; and 10 grandchildren Darick, Vanessa, Stephen, Rebecca, Hannah, Nova, Noah, Madelyn, Penelope, and Gillian. He is also survived by his brother, Frank Russell and wife Leann, and his two sisters Betty Corn and Ruby Hunter and husband Gary.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis with Dr. Jeff Davis officiating. Masonic rites were conducted by the Memphis Lodge # 16 A.F. & A. M. at the beginning of the service. Interment followed at the Memphis Cemetery east of Memphis.
Pallbearers were Jeff Cline, Bill Holland, Kevin Fogle, Gary Hilpert, Rusty Anders and Buddy Cundiff. Honorary Pallbearers were Ray Peek and Walt Marlowe.
Memorials are suggested to the family for their discretion and can be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, Missouri 63555.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis.
