MARJORIE LEE AYLWARD

Marjorie Lee Aylward, 94, of Memphis, Missouri passed away Tuesday morning, October 11, 2011 at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, Missouri.
The daughter of Asa and Bessie (Moon) Williams, she was born on November 25, 1916 in Scotland County, Missouri. She married Orville Lee Aylward on October 18, 1936 and to this union four children were born: Phil, Dorothy, Eddie and Earl.
Mrs. Aylward was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family. She greatly enjoyed sewing, gardening and tending her flowers, especially her African Violets. She also loved cooking and baking for her family. Everyone looked forward to "grandma's rolls" at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Marjorie was a member of the Brock Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women and also a member of the Memphis United Methodist Church and Mary Circle. She was known for her pies and stuffing that she made for church suppers, even holding a pie crust making demonstration at her home.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her stepfather, William Glover, one grandson, Stephen Aylward, one brother, Carl Williams and two sisters, Pearl Fulton and Jennie Grobe.
Marjorie is survived by four children: Phil Aylward (Joyce) of Memphis, Dorothy White (Allen) of Bloomfield Iowa, Ed Aylward (Linda) of Kansas City and Earl Aylward (Mary Lee) of Jackson Minnesota; eight grandchildren, Scott Aylward and Sharon Triplett of Memphis, Missouri, Sally Yates and Jeff White of Des Moines, Iowa, Craig White of Blue Springs, Missouri, Todd White of Bloomfield Iowa, Emily White of Maple Grove, Minnesota and Sarah Grimmius of Jackson, Minnesota, thirteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to either the Memphis United Methodist Church or the Scotland County Residential Terrace in Memphis and can be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, Missouri 63555.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis. Officiating the service was Pastor David Howlett.
Interment followed in the Memphis Cemetery east of Memphis. Musicians were Joan Hinds, organist, and Anna Lynn Kirkpatrick, soloist. Pallbearers were Scott Aylward, Jeff, Craig, Todd and Jared White along with Zac Campbell. Honorary Pallbearers were Steve Morris, Stephen Aylward, Chuck Yates and Quentin Winters.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis, Missouri.
