Eloise Poos, 80, of Memphis, MO passed away Friday afternoon, April 22, 2011, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis. The daughter of Robert and Minnie Evans Carr, she was born on September 9, 1930 in Van Buren County, IA where she grew up.

She graduated High School from Selma, IA in 1949. She was married to Henry "Tiny" Poos on January 28, 1949. He passed away Oct. of 1976. They lived their life together in Selma, IA. To this union three children were born, Mary, Linda and Randy.

In her earlier years she worked as a homemaker, a cook at the Girl Scout camp in Eldon, IA, and also as a housekeeper for the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She also babysat many different children. She enjoyed reading, embroidering, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and going out to Ottumwa to shop and eat out at Burger King.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother Murl, Orville, and Leonard Carr.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary and her husband Emmett Cochran of Memphis, MO and Linda and her husband David Cochran also of Memphis, MO, one son Randy Poos and his wife Nancy of Washington, IA, five grandchildren, Sarah Krouse and her fiancÚ Toby Steele of Memphis, MO, Colt Cochran and his wife Kelly of Memphis, MO, Curtis Cochran and his wife Angie of Memphis MO, Cindy Meade of Bonaparte, IA, Melissa and her husband Kevin Ferrel of Keosauqua, IA, nine great grandchildren, Natalie and Lydia Krouse, Sandra Steele, Austin and Kendra Cochran, Jamie McVeigh, Skyler Seadore and his wife Tosha, and Madison and Maycee Ferrel, four step grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren, and four step great-great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law Marna Carr of Keosauqua, IA, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday April 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Rev. Charles Hammack and Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Pallbearers were Rex Carr, Melvin Carr, Tommy Carr, Toby Steele, Colt Cochran, and Curtis Cochran. Honorary Pallbearers were Neil McKee, Matt McKee, Dick Graff, Emmett Cochran, David Cochran, Dr. Ronald Keller, and Dr. William Dixon. Interment was in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Van Buren County, Iowa.
