Linda Mae Whalen, 71, of Durham, Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at home with her family by her side.

She was born on December 22, 1939 in Des Moines, Iowa to William Bryan and Florence Mae Lindbeck Myers. She married James M. Whalen in Carson City, Nevada on December 26, 1964.

Linda grew up in Memphis, Missouri. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, camping, watching hummingbirds and wild birds. She loved life and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very good money manager and excelled at everything she did. She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Resurrection.

She is survived by her husband James Whalen; one son, David Whalen of Tualatin, Oregon; two daughters, Sherry Headinger of Midlothian, Virginia, and Angela Warnock of Clackamas, Oregon; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Shirley Myers Reeves.
