EMMA MAE STAUFFER
Emma Mae Stauffer, 92, of Memphis died Sunday morning, February 6, 2011 at her home south of Memphis.
She was born the daughter of Peter H. and Anna Weaver Eby on October 27, 1918 in Martindale Area Earl Township, PA. Emma was also a stepdaughter to the late Jonathan Martin.
Emma was the wife of Carmi Stauffer. He preceded her in death on November 20, 2005. The Stauffers were members of the Martindale Mennonite Church, Weaverland Mennonite Conference, PA.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Eby; half brother Aaron W. Martin; two stepbrothers, Henry S. and John S. Martin; grandchildren Esther Horning and Philip Horst; great grandchildren Sheldon and Lois Zimmerman.
She is survived by her children, Julia and husband George Zimmerman of Memphis, MO, Lucille and husband Mark Horning of Stevens, PA, Mary Joyce and husband Leon Horst of Baring, MO, and Daniel and wife Jane Stauffer of Ephrata, PA; a sister, Susan and husband Aaron K. Martin of Ephrata; half sisters, Martha and husband Sidney Miller of Zion, IL, and Lydia and husband Aaron Snyder of Blue Ball, PA; a step-sister, Anna Mary of Bowmansville, PA; 35 grandchildren; 110 great grandchildren; 25 great-great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
Funeral services are Wednesday at 9 a.m., February 9, at the George N. Zimmerman home south of Memphis and at 9:30 a.m. at the Indian Creek Mennonite Church in Scotland County with Merle Oberholtzer, Luke Fox and Charles Zimmerman officiating. Albert Horst, George Horst, Lester Horst, Alvin Garman, Paul Zimmerman and Clair Zimmerman served as coffin bearers.
Funeral services in Pennsylvania will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, February 14 at the Martindale Mennonite Church with Amos G. Martin, Ivan Horst, Charles Zimmerman, Amos K. Martin, and Neil Burkholder officiating. Daniel Horst, Conward King, Earl Horning, Leonard Horst, Edward Zimmerman and Timothy Stauffer will serve as coffin bearers.
Burial will be in the Martindale Mennonite Church Cemetery.
