Nancy Lavon Setters, 63, of Memphis, MO, died early Saturday morning, January 22, 2011, in Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

The daughter of Wayne and Esther Mae (Robinson) Baker, she was born September 29, 1947, in Kirksville, MO. She attended Friendship grade school, graduated from Memphis High School, and graduated from Gem City Business College. Nancy worked in Quincy, IL as a secretary.

On September 30, 1967, she was married to Eldon Roscoe Setters, Sr. in Memphis, MO. To this union two children were born: Kelly Lavon Setters and Ross Setters.

They later moved to Memphis where Nancy worked as a trainer at the National Garment Factory in Memphis. Following their closure, she was employed at MicroEnergy in Memphis where she advanced to a supervisor. In August 1999, Nancy and Eldon moved to Shreveport, LA, to be nearer to their son and his family.

While in Shreveport, Nancy worked as a seamstress at National Linen. She was also called upon to do various other jobs.

Nancy enjoyed reading, sewing, and all types of crafts. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Memphis, MO.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Eldon; her daughter, Kelly Lavon Setters; and her father, Wayne Baker, Sr.

Survivors include her son, Ross and wife Missy Setters of Shreveport, LA; her granddaughter, Codi Setters, also of Shreveport; her mother, Esther Baker of Memphis, MO; two sisters, Wanda and husband Larry Remley of Memphis, MO and Louise Taylor of Atlanta, MO; one brother, Wayne Baker, Jr. of Macon, MO; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis with Pastor Dan Hite officiating. Special music was provided by Schelle Cooley singing, "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art", accompanied by Pam Blaine. A taped selection by Mercy Me called "Finally Home" was also played. Pallbearers were Wes Chamley, David Butts, Derek Butts, Logan Butts, Jason Emel and Randy Emel. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery in Scotland County.

Memorials are suggested to Friendship Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to the Gerth Funeral Service, 115 S. Main St., Memphis MO 63555.
