Mildred Idell "Millie" Dieterich, 89, of Memphis, MO passed away Saturday evening, Jan. 8, 2011 at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO.

The daughter of Dorsey and Lena Jones Hunt she was born on March 1, 1921 in Bible Grove, Missouri. After graduating from the Memphis High School she went to work in Jefferson City, MO at the Capitol in the license department.

On November 3, 1942 she married Victor Otto Dieterich in Warrensburg, Missouri. They resided in Arbela. Vic and Millie were engaged in farming until 1983 when they retired.

When Okie Boyer returned home from the service, they became very good friends and the four of them farmed as well as vacationed together. Her other interests include gardening and working in her flower beds. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Arbela and attended the First Christian Church in Memphis, where she moved after the death of her husband.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Surviving relatives include her special lifelong friends, Okie and Deloris Boyer, Ann and Rick Green and family as well as Ronnie and Bonnie Young and family and a host of other friends. Millie was a friend to all and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Northeast Missouri or the Scotland County Care Center and can be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St. Memphis, MO 63555.

Funeral services were held at the Payne Funeral Chapel Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Officiating the service was Rev. Carrol Davenport. Interment followed in the Etna Cemetery in rural Scotland County. Pallbearers were Kenneth Dieterich, Gene Bair, Mounty Mathes, Ronnie Boyer, Robert Kraus and Okie Boyer.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis.
