Additional investigation has led to the filing of upgraded charges in a fatal hit-and-run accident that killed a former Memphis resident on July 4th in St. Louis.
Initially Justin Kramarczyk, 24, of St. Louis, was charged with the Class D felony of leaving the scene of an accident after his vehicle allegedly struck and killed John Foster Courtney, 29.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Courtney was crossing the street at the 4100 block of Manchester Avenue in St. Louis, when he was struck by a Hyundai Santa Fe. at 12:30 a.m. on Monday morning, July 4th.
According to court records, the charge against Kramarcyyk has been upgraded to involuntary manslaughter. The Class C felony stems from the vehicular accident that was allegedly alcohol related.
