Local Educators Head to Haiti on Mission Trip
Joni Kraus and Kim Clark, both from Gorin, are very excited to be traveling to Haiti on a mission trip and would like to give you a chance to be part of it. The trip will be with "God's Chosen Ones Ministry," on July 29 until August 6, 2011 to Port Au Prince, Haiti. In January 2010 Haiti was devastated by a major earthquake and it still has a long way to go in the rebuilding process. The mission trip will include visits to local hospitals, orphanages, and schools to help with the children, to distribute supplies, and more importantly to share the love of Christ with the Haitian people. On the same trip a medical personnel team will be going to provide basic medical care and there will be a food program.
Joni and Kim are both in the education field and have been asked to bring school supplies for the Haitian children; they will each bring an extra suitcase filled with supplies. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated; whether through prayers, financial donations, or donations of school supplies. The school supplies needed for the Haitian children are; pencils, erasers, notebooks, blue and black pens, crayons, markers, colored pencils, shoes, rulers, supply boxes, glue or glue sticks, and hand sanitizer; also being accepted are small light weight blankets and clothes. They both look forward to doing God's work in Haiti and will update everyone on how God has worked through this team when they return.
