FFA to Host Hired Hand Auction on June 17th

Need some yard work done, help cleaning out that garage, or maybe just an extra set of hands on the farm for a day? The Memphis Chapter of the Future Farmers of America has the answer for you.

The annual FFA hired hand auction will be held Friday, June 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Scotland County Livestock Auction in Memphis. Auctioneer Jerry Blomme will "sell" Memphis FFA members to the highest bidder, with the pledge to provide an eight-hour work day in return for the winning bid.

FFA members have volunteered for the hired hand auction, with all proceeds to benefit the local chapter.

"FFA members have a wide variety of work experience and backgrounds that could prove valuable to their buyers," said FFA Advisor Cassie Whitlock.

A free meal will be provided for bidders following the sale.

For more info contact Whitlock or fellow advisor Corey Stott at 660-465-2522.
