Swim Team Sign Up Announced
There will be an informational and sign-up meeting on Tuesday, May 24 at 6:00 PM at the Legion (swimming pool) Park in Memphis for anyone interested in joining the Memphis Swim Team. All school-age youth are invited to participate.
The Memphis Swim Team, a branch of the Can-Oka (Canton/Kahoka) Swim Team, is entering its sixth year. Parents and athletes alike will attest to the positive benefits of participating in organized swimming: great exercise, vast improvement in stroke technique, every child plays/competes in several events, and, most importantly, lots of fun. Because swimming is a life-time sport, enjoyed by people of all ages, skills learned by young swimmers will be used for the rest of their lives.
Due to the competitive nature of the league, participants should have enough skill and courage to swim the length of the pool without stopping to rest.
The team practices Monday through Friday mornings at the pool, time to be announced. Practices will begin on Monday, June 13. For questions, contact coaches Trinity Davis, Heliene Tobler, or another swim parent.
